DELAVAN – Maria “Lucy” Castro, age 80, of Delavan passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 7, 2025 with the love of her family surrounding her. She was born on November 2, 1944 in Crystal City, TX to Ramon and Manuela (Cardona) Garcia
Lucy was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She devoted her life to raising her seven children. After raising her children Lucy became a caretaker and devoted years caring for others. She enjoyed spending time shopping with her daughters, drawing, playing cards and playing Madagascar Golf video game with her husband and grandchildren.
Lucy will be missed by her loving husband, Angel Castro, her children: Diana (Rogelio) Rodriguez; Susy (Rodolfo) Hernandez; Lucy Andrade; Carmen Gonzalez; Brenda Gonzalez; Jennifer (John) Buffalo; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren and two sisters and a brother and a host of other family members.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents; brother Jesus "Jesse" Garcia; son Fernando Gonzalez; grandsons Daniel Castro and Antonio "Max" Arreola; and great-grandson Jayce Rocha; and niece Ruby Gonzales.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
