DELAVAN – George J. Gallagher, age 73, of Delavan passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at home in Delavan. He was born in Janesville on April 3, 1951 to Harold and Juanita (Marinoff) Gallagher. George graduated from DDHS in 1969. He worked for Hintz Well Drilling and Sta-Rite Industries before retiring from Wilmar Pump and Supply. He made many lifelong friends during his career in the well industry. George was united in marriage to Gail Ennis (Ross) on April 16, 1994 at Chapel on the Hill in Lake Geneva. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and his dogs. George bowled at the Wednesday night league at Delavan Lanes and golfed the men’s league at Delbrook. George was a true jack of all trades, always working on various projects.
George is survived by his wife, Gail; children, Kelly (Michael) Gallagher, of Freeport, IL, Travis Ross, of Williams Bay, and Eric (Stacy) Gallagher, of Sharon; daughter-in-law, Jessica Ross, of Williams Bay; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Austin, Maggi, Troy, Landon, Natalie, and Grace; great granddaughter, Karla; two sisters, Sharon (Chuck) Bates, of Delavan, and Penny Zoellner, of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kip Ross; grand dog, Ruger and many other family pets.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
